Working at Wana Tirta Consulting Association

Duration: 2005
My position is Floristic Specialist.

It did at 2005 ago, when we got the evaluation project from Perhutani at KPH Randublatung. This project aimed to evaluate the performance of sustainability management for teak forest that will and was gone. Evaluation contains of social impact, biological impact like flora-fauna conditions after Perhutani getting the one of tree cultivation management. Beside, we saw the process of teak factory. We evaluated the safety and condition on the factory sites.

My specified job was evaluating the floristic component as biological impact and treatment. As we know, that teak forest is monoculture tree farming. Therefore, the diversity index usually low. We can combine with naturally tropical forest. It is so different at index.

Then, what do next?

I made sampling plot to measure diversity contains trees, poles, sapling and seedling. I used sampling plot with size 20 m x 20 m to measure trees diversity, 10 m x 10 m to measure poles, 5 m x 5 m for sapling and 2 m x 2 m for seedling. I made plot again to measure the herbs and other cover crops diversity with 2 m x 2 m. The data that I got then we calculated as similarity index to combine what did true management for every site plots.

We made the RKL and RPL (the two method documents to manage and treat the impact if its come). This project needed to get ISO documents about sustainability process sites.

That project was under leading by Prof. Dr. Ir. Chafid Fandeli, MS who is a lecture at forestry Faculty on Gadjah Mada University. And now, He is head office PUSPAR UGM (CENTER RESEARCH OF TOURISM, GADJAH MADA UNIVERSITY).
